Who we are
The Miss Opal Pageant was born from something deeply personal, a love letter to our grandmother, Emma Jean McLeod. She was the kind of woman whose grace lit up every room, whose kindness wrapped around you like a warm hug, and whose strength shaped generations. October was her birth month, and just like the opal stone, she was soft, strong, and radiant all at once.
Miss Opal isn’t just a pageant, it’s her legacy.
It’s for the girls who need a space to feel seen. For the women who never thought they could shine. For every queen, big or small, young or seasoned, who deserves to be celebrated as she is.
We proudly welcome all ages, all sizes, and all backgrounds, because beauty isn’t one size fits all, and neither is purpose. Our system honors natural beauty, community service, and character, and encourages our queens to give back, build confidence, and walk with meaning.
Every sash we pin, every crown we place, and every hug we give is a reflection of the love she poured into us.
And now, we get to pour that into others through this pageant.
We are grace.
We are growth.
We are Miss Opal.
